About GUS

*** Hello! I'm Gus, the People Dog! *** I'm a handsome, tan and white Hound and Pit Bull mix (possibly). I'm around 4 years old and weigh 62 lbs. You know that Barney song 'I love you...you love me...we're a happy family...? Well, that song is me in a nutshell. Happy and very affectionate, I'm an extrovert who's never met a stranger. My most favorite activity is spending some quality time in the yard with my volunteer fans, er, friends. When I'm feeling all lovey-dovey, which is quite often, I'll try and sneak in as many kisses and snuggles with them as I can. And I LIVE FOR and absolutely LOVE getting massages and belly rubs. I take my sniffaris very seriously. I'm quite often in the Dr. Gus research mode, trying to figure out the many smells and taking my time to read and respond to the pee-mails I've received. I may sometimes get a little carried away during my research and pull on the leash, but will 'Come back, when you ask me to. I wait calmly and patiently in my kennel when my volunteer buddies come to take me out for a walk. I also go back into my kennel with no fuss at all. I already know how to 'Sit' and go 'Down on all fours, when asked to. Sometimes, I'll roll over right after doing something you ask me to for a belly rub. I'm very smart and attentive, and am always willing to learn new tricks. Being a foodie, nothing motivates me to do or learn something new like a stinky treat. And I'll sit and take the treats very gently from your hand. I'm quite the ladies man and prefer to run the fence and play with the female doggos, who if I may say so, seem quite taken with me too. Well, can you blame them? Just look at yours truly! BUT, given a choice between spending time with a doggo and you, I'd likely choose to be with you. Barney song, remember? I don't seem to know how to play with toys and haven't figured out the mystery yet. When we go home, I'd love you to teach me to play with them. Whether you need a hiking partner, a walking companion, or a couch cuddler to curl up with you for a snuggle and a snooze, I'm your dude. ## See attached video of Gus! ##
