About Ringo

RINGO is a 6 year old, 11.2 pound Yorkie mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Time and attention, no kids, fenced yard. His prior owner is suffering from dementia and we believe that Ringo was being protective and anxious about the changes in his person. His foster dad says he is mostly sweet and loving and he likes to give kisses. He also loves to cuddle and hang out on the couch, but he won't jump up on his own. He will make funny little barks until you pick him up. He does have times when he resource guards his person and he will bark or growl if someone else tries to come near but he is easily managed out of that. *He did bite in his prior home. Ringo coexists with other calm dogs but he does not really have much to do with them. He will resource guard his person against them though. He is not a fan of the neighborhood cat and he should not go to a home with kids. Loud noises, a lot of activity and other dogs grumbling can kind of get him upset and excited. He is taking Prozac for anxiety and does well on it. Ringo does fine being left alone and sleeps most of the day until his foster dad comes home. He generally does well with his house breaking and uses the doggie door, but still has accidents sometimes. He walks on a leash and harness and rides well in a car. We are looking for a home with a fenced yard. If given the opportunity, he will slip out the front door behind you, so his new family needs to be careful with that. Ringo will need to be brushed and groomed and he is good when it comes to that. At night he sleeps on the bed with his foster dad. Ringo has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He is a super sweet boy who wants nothing more than to be with his person getting lots of love and attention! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
