About Reinar

This is Reinar, he is a german shepherd mix. He is 4 years old and weighs 60 lbs. We adopted him from the shelter about a year and a half ago. He is vaccinated and neutered. We are moving into a smaller apartment without a yard and believe it would be more fair to him to find a new owner who has the space for a large dog like him. Reinar is house trained and kennel trained. Reinar is extremely loving and protective of his owners. He gets nervous people come to visit. Reinar is friendly toward other dogs he lives with, but can get defensive around other dogs while on walks outside the house. This is something we have been working with him on and we have seen improvements. Reinar can climb a chain link fence. We leave him in his kennel during the day to prevent him from getting out. He would be most successful in a yard with a wooden fence. When off-leash, Reinar comes when called. He doesn't have a perfect recall yet, but is getting there. With a little more training, Reinar has the pontential to become the ulitmate guard dog. He is extremely athletic and has a high drive. We have quite a bit of gear we have purchased for him that we will galdly gift his new owner, including a large kennel, a dog bed, a bark collar, a leash, a muzzle, a backpack, a ball, a long training leash, and a treat bag.
