Phoenix's owner feels like someone else may be better equipped to take care of her special needs, and so Phoenix is in need of a new home. They have tried asking family and friends and posting on social media, but have not yet had any luck. Name: Phoenix Age: DOB 9/11/2021 Breed: Pit Bull mix (45 pounds) Sex: Female (not spayed) Location: Mercer County, PA Vet Info: Phoenix is not spayed. She is next due for her rabies vaccine on 5/10/2024. She is confirmed heartworm negative and is next due for a heartworm test on 4/25/2024. She has had one eye removed and is blind in the other eye, and per her owner, is Lyme positive. Dog Info: Phoenix is an indoor and outdoor dog, and is housebroken and leash trained. She knows several commands including Sit, Stay, and Door (when the door is open for her to go out). Phoenix is good with people of all ages and male and female dogs, but can be possessive of food and will growl a little. Her owner gave us more details: 'Since she went blind she doesn't like when dogs are near her food. But she isn't people aggressive with food or anything. My kids can put their hands in her bowl and she doesn't care.' Phoenix's owner wants us to know what a special girl she is! She tells us, 'She is very friendly and just needa a good home. She loves kids and butt scratches. She like to wonder off if given the opportunity so she needs watched closely. She loves cinnamon rolls (I know strange). And loves to play with other dogs.'
