Dixie came to us before Christmas last year when her family realized they were no longer able to take care of her. They had gotten her as a puppy but shortly after realized their daughter was seriously ill and needed to be hospitalized. The next year was spent in and out of the hospital for different surgeries and Dixie was not able to get the socialization or training that she needed. Eventually her family decided it was not fair for Dixie to be left home for long periods of time and have minimal interaction so they decided to surrender her. When we picked up Dixie from the owners parents they said something along the lines of 'this dog is a good dog but she hasn't been trained' I of course being used to this was like oh that's no problem. And they were like 'no seriously this dog has had zero training'. And boy were they right ���� Dixie was maybe one of the most under socialized out of control dogs we have ever taken in. You couldn't even touch her without her having an absolutely spastic episode. She jumped on everyone, bit at her lead, and was very reactive towards other dogs. I recognized right away she was going to need more training that I personally had time for so we contacted our friend The K9 Concierge for a board and train. Since working with Mike we have seen an absolutely amazing transformation with her temperament, her ability to listen, and to remain calm. Her reactivity to other dogs has decreased tremendously and she is really a good happy loving dog that just wants to please her people.
