About Edward

American Staffordshire Terrier / Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Edward is a sweet, loving, and loyal boy who wants an owner who will give him a bed to call his own and lots of love. He does not ask a lot of his owner, rather he loves naps and cuddles and when he gets surprised with walks, play, or treats he is always very pleased and grateful. He was originally rescued from the animal shelter as a stray. He is a medium sized dog, around 40 pounds and two years old. After we adopted him, he was attacked by an unleashed German Shepard, which is when his animal anxiety started. He doesn't do well around any other animals so he needs a home where he is the only pet. The reason we need to rehome him, despite him being our dream dog, is that since his attack (he is fully healed now) he has shown aggression to our two year old son, going as far as biting him twice. This means that we will only rehome him to someone who has NO KIDS. We are sincerely hoping that there is someone or some family with no children and no other pets seeking companionship with this guy who offers a low maintenance friendship and lots of love. He is at risk of being euthanized because we cannot keep him in our home with our two year old much longer and the animal shelter cannot take him since he has bitten a child. He does not bark, he is potty trained and very good about asking to go outside, he only whines quietly when he needs something like reminding us it is dinner time or he needs to go potty. He is trained with the classic commands and is eager to please his owners.
