About Girlie

Girlie is a 7 year old, 9.14 pound Pomeranian. LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Quiet home with a fenced yard and another dog. HIGHLIGHTS: Sweetheart ��%BD%9D%A4��%BD��%BD%8F Girlie was owner surrendered. She has not been exposed to a lot of people or different things and is skittish but she wants to be loved on so badly. Girlie has great potential to be a snuggly lapdog and be affectionate and cuddly, once she gets over her fear of the unknown. She greets her foster family with a happy waggy tail and will very timidly reach to sniff and lick their hands, then she runs away. Her foster mom is working with her on this and she is getting a lot more comfortable. Girlie gets along great with all the dogs in her foster home and has since day one. She's the kind of dog that will need to go to a home with another dog. Girlie looks to other dogs for social cues and will have a difficult time transitioning to a new home without a dog to take the lead and show her it's okay to trust new people in a new environment. Cats are an unknown and we have not had her around kids. She might be ok with older ones, but younger kids will probably scare her. Girlie is doing well on house training and is good when she is taken out regularly. She still has accidents though and needs some more work. Positive reinforcement only for her, she will not react well to negativity! Girlie needs a home with a fenced yard. She is a fast runner and has started doing zoomies, it's so fun to watch her be a dog! At night she likes to sleep in a dog bed in the bedroom. Girlie has been to the vet for wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She had a dental when we got her spay and lost a bunch of rotten teeth. Girlie is a real sweetheart who is going to be a great pet. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
