About Shmeegs

Shmiegel is 12 years old and a very sweet girl. She has been by my side for a very long time and has learned the most out of any dog I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Shmeegs is very food motivated which is always a beagles #1, and she loves to howl or bay for reason other than everyone else is doing it. I am needing to find her a new home which breaks my heart but any other solution isnt in her best interest. We have recently moved from a home to an apartment which she has not adjusted very well to. We also have a toddler that isn't the most gentle. From having to limit her water to reduce her accidents to having no place to hide from the toddler, I feel that going to a good home would be best. Sticking to a kennel all day or a porch isn't ideal. Shmeegs likes other dogs but prefers to be a loner dog. She loves car rides and stealing stuffed animals (we have dubbed her babies), and only shows aggression over things like bones, pig ears, high value treats(meats etc). Give her a dog bed and she will choose the couch unless you give her a nice blanket to burrow in! She knows how to sit, shake, speak, high five, play dead (with finger gun and a bang verbal command, but when it comes to potty time...she does what she wants. She prefers towels or my wifes close(8 years and she still hasn't accepted her). As a beagle, food control is a must but lately she has began drinking excessively leading her to potty excessively.
