We adopted Tessa from a rescue shelter 3 years ago, she was only 14 weeks old. The write-up said she was a lab mix. DNA testing report says she is 70% blue tick coon hound and 30% doberman. She really is a sweet girl, she is very intelligent, she is loving, and gentle with everyone, including our small grandchildren. As much as she loves to play with other dogs, she tends to think she is in charge. She loves to be invited for car rides and prefers (if offered) to sit in the passenger seat for the best view. Tessa is motivated by food, and is not picky about the menu. The reason we are sadly trying to rehome her is, she grew to be much bigger than we can handle. My husband and I both had total knee replacements this year, and feel Tessa desserves a home where she will be able to run and be taken on walks. She is very strong and has discovered that neither of us can handle her on a leash any longer. This decision has been a year in the making, and has been very difficult for us, but we know it is the very best choice for our girl.
