This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. I adopted Ivy from a high kill shelter a year ago. Previous owner said she was good with all animals. We live on a farm and Ivy wants to chase cats, chickens, goats and cows. I've tried to keep her contained to the house and a small dog yard, but there is always a danger here that she will cause irreparable damage to the baby goats that sometimes forage in our yard. Ivy is house trained and eager to please. She is a loving dog, happy to give hugs and kisses. She obeys verbal corrections as long as a cat or farm animal is not involved. She loves to romp and play with other dogs, but thinks all the food and toys should belong to her. She does not bite but guards her prizes from other dogs with intimidation. She would be perfect for a home with no other animals, or a large dog in a family willing to feed separately. I do not have the resources to find such a family, so hoping that a shelter will take her on before her owner surrender appointment at Animal Control March 7th. I can no longer manage her care, as my elderly husband doesn't notice when she slips through the door with him to the farm area.
