Meet Hanson Handsome Hanson is just 10 months young. He is a sweet and eager little nugget. Hanson is a fox terrier/chi/doxi mix. Since arriving, we've seen him thrive with kind attention. Hanson, and his brother Hudson, were traumatized after their house caught fire. Their family was unable to keep them in their new rental and surrendered them to our shelter. Hanson was in a foster home for a few days. Not only did he enjoy his time away, we received a lot of good information. Per his foster, Hanson is an absolute love. He craves attention. He loves jumping in your lap for a snuggle. He loves sleeping in bed and makes himself at home. He is small in size, easy to pick up, yet hardy and athletic. He walks beautifully and easily on a leash. He'll make for a terrific hiking or walking buddy. Hanson likes other dogs and gets along well, but he likes to be the center of attention with his person. Most likely because he wasn't shown a lot of attention and love in his young life, he may just need to have his confidence built. He will chase cats and small animals and needs to be in a home without them, Hanson is house-trained. He has so much going for him. This happy little nugget will make for a wonderful companion. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also rescued from local and area Animal Controls. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoptions and meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only. Complete an application and someone will be in touch just as soon as they can. An application doesn't commit you or us to an adoption, but it allows our coordinator to begin the review process.
