About Bonnie

Adoption Fee: $600
Great Dane
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

LOCATION: Cedar Hill, Texas DOB: 11/09/2020 (Estimate) Meet Bonnie, a stunning harlequin Dane whose past is touched with sadness and disregard. Rescued by a caring family, Bonnie's tale took a turn towards hope and possibility. Initially neglected, Bonnie found a safe place in the home of a family who envisioned a special connection between her and their special needs daughter. However, Bonnie's vibrant energy, though well-intentioned, proved to be a bit too much for their home. Despite this, Bonnie is a gentle giant who coexists harmoniously with a little dog and is friendly towards other dogs during her walks. Her compatibility with feline friends remains unknown, yet her positive interactions with dogs suggest a promising outlook. What a beautiful harlequin coat she has. She is an excellent companion for children of all ages. Living in a bustling household of eight, she has adapted well to the vibrant energy of a busy family, becoming a part of their daily lives. Bonnie does not do well with an aggressive loud approach. Most dogs do not. She had a momentary reaction, raising her hackles and growling when confronted with a sudden and loud entrance by a stranger. However, her response quickly softened when reassured by a family member, suggesting that she may have been startled and is quick to trust once assured. Timid in unfamiliar situations, Bonnie is steadily overcoming her reservations, She has not displayed any signs of food or toy aggression, and her friendly demeanor extends to visitors, even in new and evolving situations. In the great outdoors, Bonnie unleashes her playful side, leaping with joy, though she thankfully respects the boundaries of fences. Housebroken, leash trained, crate trained, and with excellent recall, Bonnie's foundation in obedience is strong. While Bonnie exhibits some occasional traits that need redirection, such as chewing, digging, barking, and pulling, with focused attention and care, these behaviors can be curbed. She may explore the kitchen counters if left unsupervised, but under watchful eyes, she thrives in a safe and secure environment. The ideal home for Bonnie would be one that offers ample room for her to run and play, alongside someone devoted to providing her daily exercise needs. She would be nothing less than a loving companion for the right family. With patience and continued guidance, she will blossom into a cherished member of her forever home. She will undoubtedly bring a special joy and warmth to those fortunate enough to welcome her into their lives.
