About Dixie

Dixie is a Blue Tick Coonhound rescue. She is approximately 5 years old and an intact female. She is approximately between 80 and 75 pounds. She is good with children as long as supervised with small children. She is good with women and men for the most part. She needs to be in a one dog one pet household preferably. No male dogs. No small dogs or small animals and no cats she has a large prey drive and it would not be safe. She would do better in a dog run kennel situation. She runs easily especially with the sound of gunshots. She has been in a traumatic situation as far as we know she may have been caught in a house fire within the past year and a half. She would do much better where she has a one on one relationship with her owners. Because she is a coonhound she will howel and we do believe she does have separation anxiety. Hound and or coonhound previous experience is preferable. She is very loving and sweet girl. She loves to cuddle will steal your side of the bed if necessary. She is a little big for her breed but just the more loving that she will give. Unfortunately at this point in time we cannot meet her need, and would rather she be with a person or persons that can.
