Zippy is a sweet, happy guy who loves people and the canine ladies. He was rescued from Memphis animal shelter euthanasia just in time. Whew! He is a loving fellow looking for a forever family where he can continue to grow and live his best life. In return, he will be your loyal, affectionate, and playful lifelong buddy. Zippy loves play time but is also content relaxing at home with his people. He is house and crate trained and in fact loves his man-cave crate. He knows basic commands and learns quickly. Zippy loves female dogs and could make a wonderful canine sibling with proper, slow introductions. He can compete with male dogs, so female dogs or being the only dog are recommended. Due to his size and playfulness, any children should be over 10 years. Zippy has shown food and treat guarding and therefore should be given them separately from any other dogs in a crate or separate room. As a young stray puppy, he had to fend for himself to survive. Training might help with this, but adopters should be willing to respect his boundaries. Zippy is about 50 lbs. of playful affection. He would love to be your fetch, running, or football buddy and best friend.
