A loveable ball of energy with the most bubbly personality. Shasta had a rough go at life with some skin issues and neglect. She was found with awful skin infections and almost no hair. She now has almost a full coat with some thin patches of hair that is starting to grow back in. Shasta definitely has a lot of energy and loves playing with her foster siblings. She'd do best in a house with a dog to match her energy that loves to wrestle. She also needs a dog that doesn't mind their personal space being invaded because when shes ready to settle down she will practicallylay right on top of them to cuddle. She doesn't mind the cats and will try to play with them but listens when told no and to leave them be. Shasta might be too much for real little kids with her energy, but loves kids and with some training would be great! She rides amazing in the car and will usually just lay down and sleep. Shasta is mostly house trained now and will have an occasional accident, bur they are far and few between. She does well in her kennel and will walk right in especially for a treat. She will bark or whine for 5-10 minutes when first put in the kennel and then settles down and sleeps through the night. Shasta still has a lot of puppy in her and like a toddler, she has to be watched pretty closely or kenneled as she does like to get into things that aren't hers, but is learning what's okay and not okay and does listen to the word no very well. We have been doing shorter periods of her being left alone and out of the kennel and she is getting better. Shasta is very smart and LOVES food, she learns very quickly with positive reinforcement and treats. Shasta would be great for any family that enjoys the outdoors as her favorite things are to be laying in the grass basking in the sun and sitting in a lawn chair around a camp fire. Shasta does walk really nice on a leash too. If you are looking for the perfect medium size and most lovable dog, Shasta is your girl and you should apply to meet her today!
