About Collier

Collier! This dapper young (approx 10 mth old) lab mix with the big smile is Collier. Collier, much like we might expect, is energetic and playful. He is great with other dogs that can appreciate his play style. He was originally found trying to hitchhike on the side of the road in AL. Clearly he doesn't understand how dangerous that can be for a young kid such as himself, but thankfully he was found by a good samaritan who took him in for a few weeks prior to joining our rescue. It is clear that Collier started to learn the rules and benefits of living indoors but still needs lots of work. He is a bit wild on a leash (and was generally offleash in a large yard and did great running and burning off energy) and still getting adjusted to being crated, but we are confident he will be an amazing family member with some training and patience, much like any young dog. He appears to have the basics of housebreaking down but we expect he will have accidents as he gets used to a new routine and environment. He is friendly with other dogs and all people he has met while in our care, despite the need to learn a few manners like not jumping. Collier is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
