Want to adopt the goodest boy? Meet Jethro! This guy is NOT looking to take a 12 mile hike with you, he just wants to cuddle up, feel loved, and secure some much needed chest scratches. He is about 4 years old, Staffordshire Bull Terrier seems to dominate his breed mix but we think he might have a little Mastiff in there too. Jethro has been riding it out here since last October, but man would he love a home and some lovin'. He will need time to settle in and adjust once he is adopted, but he is very responsive to affection, care, and reassurance. It feels like he wants to be someone's close buddy! Here are some other things we have learned about this awesome guy since he has been with us: - He is shy at first, then after he warms up, he wants all the lovins S - He has some anxiety, including pacing and jumping up, he will need time to adjust and settle in a new home and learn home manners - He loves other dogs and playtime, but we think he would do best being the only dog in the home right now. He is just feeling too jealous and anxious to share the attention and love right now - He is about 4 years old, 50-60 lbs, and a stafforshire bull terrier mix (we think he might have a little mastiff in there) - He is sweet and talkative - and he loooovves giving hugs - He came in skinny, and thru the process of trying to get weight on him we learned that his pancreas has trouble absorbing nutrients. He needs a daily medication to help, we have him on it now, and we can explain more about it in person if you decide to adopt Mr. Jethro - He has done very well with kiddos that have come to the shelter for a visit - When he likes someone, he really wants to stick near them and he gives the sweetest gentle guy kisses!! We are still working on getting him to be gentle taking a treat lol, but it's a process and his heart is in the right place. Want to give this good boy a good home he can feel safe and loved in? Come by the shelter at 2825 Sherman Ave in Monte Vista (Tues-Fri 11-4 pm or Sat-Sun 1-5 pm) or call us at (719) 852-3366 if you are interested.
