Boscoe is a 6 year old mixed breed who lucked out in the looks and personality departments. He's a very handsome 80lb boy who has coloring and fur similar to a St. Bernard, but I don't believe he has any St. Bernard in his genes. He's always been incredibly friendly and gentle, minus jumping up sometimes, with every person he's ever met. He's also been great with other animals. We have cats, including one with cerebellar hypoplasia, and other dogs, of various ages, and he's always been very good with all of them also. Boscoe is usually very food/treat motivated and is a pretty voracious chewer. We've never had a problem with him chewing things he shouldn't though and we've had him subscribed to the Super Chewer Bark Box for the last couple of years. He loves their treats, nylon chew toys, and loves ripping the fabric off of the two-in-one toys that are fabric stitched tightly to a dense rubber toy inside, but then quickly loses interest in it. He doesn't seem to like to play fetch but loves to play tug. Boscoe is crate trained and, in addition to sleeping in his crate, he is also accustomed to being crated whenever he will be unsupervised. Boscoe has a very expressive face and is very smart. He's the kind of dog that will do things like pretend to ignore you by looking away from you when you try to get him to do something he doesn't want to do, like go to his crate, but in a cute way, like look away but then side-eye you. He also harrumphs when he doesn't want to listen. We did some training with him with a gentle leader and it did work well to teach him to sit, lay down, and walk without pulling. He will sit and lay down on command but he does pull when on a normal lead and when wearing a gentle leader he we rub his face on grass and roll around in it on walks. He walks pretty well on his own but both him and Nala do better on walks together. Boscoe was brought into our lives as a puppy by my son and he was not able to take Boscoe with him when he moved out. We've been caring for Boscoe since he was a puppy and we love him but with our busy work, school, and kids' sports schedules he doesn't get the time he needs or deserves. He needs room to run and a person or family to give him lots of love and affection. We would like to them to stay together as they are bonded and have lived together most of their lives. We love Boscoe and Nala and only want to rehome them if we truly believe it will be a better situation for them than we can currently provide.
