Courtesy Posting: X URGENT - ADORABLE CALM SHEP/ LAB X GIRL NEEDS A LOVING HOME OR FOSTER/ RESCUE TO SAVE HER LIFE! WALKS NICELY ON LEASH AND TOLERANT OF OTHER DOGS. WHO CAN HELP THIS CUTIE? MISS DAISY - ID #A5588675 Downey Shelter, Downey, So Cal !! X URGENT!! Please help us find a good home or foster asap for super senior Miss Daisy, an adorable, but very neglected, lady who was found as a stray and brought to the Downey/LA County kill shelter who is full. The shelter has estimated she is 10 years old, and has now listed her as a 54 lb shepherd mix (but she may also have some lab in her as well as a smaller breed). The shelter has many nice things to say about her, and behavior notes they gave us state, 'Miss Daisy was lying on her bed with a relaxed body and a soft tail wag. She stood up and greeted the runner with a relaxed body, soft eyes, ears up, a closed mouth, and a soft tail wag. She was easy to leash and remove from the kennel, walked nicely on leash while bypassing the other kennels, and was easy to collar. In the catch pen, her body was relaxed, her eyes were soft, her mouth was closed, her ears were up, and her tail was neutral. She entered the yard and bypassed the other dogs. She roamed the yard and quietly kept to herself. After a while, she exchanged slightly tense greetings with the other dogs. She offered a soft correction when one of the dogs hovered over her, then moved to lean against the handler and solicit petting. She sat calmly by the fence, and had a quiet demeanor. She softly wagged her tail whenever the handler was near her. Miss Daisy is tolerant of the other dogs, and prefers a gentle-dainty yard.' We also have her medical notes which show she is now being given treatment for her skin, and medicine, given she has a lot of missing fur and missing or worn teeth. She is adoptable to homes with children 8 and up, or with calm dogs, but we are also looking for a foster or foster to adopt we can pair with a rescue if needed, to assist with her medical. Miss Daisy would be spayed for an adopter or home, but she appears to have had a litter in the past. Her puppies were likely sold off and then she was sadly dumped.
