About Dixie

Dixie is a very sweet 6 year old lab/cross. We want to rehome her because we have two dogs and we would like to only have one for expense and ease. She has been with us ever since she was a puppy. She is very good with kids and other dogs. We had two cats when she was young and she respected them very well. We have not had cats for probably 3 years now. She is an outdoor farm dog, but sleeps in the garage every night and comes in the house during thunderstorms and fireworks. She is kennel trained and has never went to the bathroom in the garage or house unless she is sick. She would make a very good house dog and loves when we let her in. She has run away from home, but usually because of a storm or fireworks/guns when we haven't been home to put her in. She HATES loud noises and will try to be very close to any person when she hears them. Her biggest fault is that she loves too much. That, coupled with her high strung energy can be a bit of a handful. She loves licking faces and being in personal space trying to get some petting. She also jumps up into the face of every new person she encounters. She is NEVER aggressive, just lovey and full of energy. She does not jump on us at all, just when someone new comes to the house. She is very calm when it is just our family at home.
