LOCATION: Lost Creek, West Virginia DOB: 9/8/2020 (Estimate) Meet Cleopatra, lovingly called Cleo. She is a strikingly beautiful blue Dane in need of a special home. Cleo's journey has been one of adaptation and change. She's a remarkable girl who, like many of us, has faced various challenges in her life. As you consider bringing Cleo into your home, it's important to understand her unique needs and qualities. She requires plenty of room to stretch her long legs and indulge in her love for exercise. She thrives when provided with ample opportunities for physical activity. While Cleo has been affectionate with her human foster siblings, she has displayed unprovoked aggression towards some children and other dogs. It's possible she sees herself as a protector, particularly when it comes to her human family. Given her history and temperament, Cleo would do best as the only pet in a household. She would also do best in a home without children. This arrangement would minimize potential conflicts and provide her with the peace and stability she needs. Cleo is a Velcro Dane, loyal and devoted to her humans. She knows her basic commands, which reflects her eagerness to please. She can be a bit of a talker but she usually has only good things to say. Cleo may be crate trained, but her preference is to sleep with her humans. She's a true companion who thrives on closeness and connection. She walks well on a leash and is generally well-behaved in public. However, Cleo has a tendency to bark when startled, a behavior that can be managed with patient training. Above all, Cleo is loyal and loving to a fault. Her heart is filled with a deep affection for those she considers family, and she's willing to go to great lengths to protect and care for them. She may get the occasional 'zoomies,' , but for the most part, she is more of a couch potato. She's most happy curling up with you and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Cleo requires a committed home that is willing to work with her unique needs and provide a safe, structured environment.
