About Nana Banana & puppies

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 2-year-old female Chihuahua about 12 pounds. Nana Banana was found in the middle of a busy intersection in Yakima in a Banana Box! A truck almost ran the box over, but he noticed her little head peaking over! He stopped fast and quickly realized that she had 5 newborns in the box with her. They were turned over to us the same day. Fast forward a few days, we were driving them over to Seattle and got a call that a homeless lady had three newborn pups in her car, and they needed rescue. Luckily, we had a nursing mom and Nana took them under her paw immediately! Nana's babies are the 'Fruits', and the three tagalongs are the 'Cows' (aptly named for their coloring). Nana has been a great mom to all, and they are now 4 months old and looking for a home of their own! Nana is a sweet, gentle girl who likes to go for walks. She is friendly with those she knows, but cautious to new people. She has gotten along well with the other dogs at the foster home and welcomes visitors with a wag. She is crate trained and uses the doggie door. She likes to cuddle and be under the blankets. She would love a home with a yard and a doggie door but would be fine in a home where leash walking is the norm. She has not been introduced to cats or kids, but our guess is that she would be fine with older respectful children. The puppies are just 4 months old and are developing their own personalities. They will need everything a puppy needs: house training, manners, leash walking and continued socialization. More information can be found on their individual pictures on our Facebook page. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
