About Hopper

Adoption Fee: Fee
Boxer / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hello, My name is Hopper, I am playful and affectionate. I've proven myself good with small kids and small dogs, but I am heavy footed and a bit aloof of my size so I am probably best with kids and pets that weigh about as much or more than I do (50 lbs). I can have a lot of energy, but I also know when it's time to relax and I am VERY good at that. My most exceptional quality is my warm and loving cuddles. Cuddling was specifically mentioned by the family that was dog sitting me for the holidays, especially by their kids! They said they'd keep me if they didn't already have two dogs of their own. I've learned a lot from my foster family: sit, down, up, paw, bed, leave it, sit handsome (sitting up), and I even learned how to jump through a hoop! I love car rides, playing with my foster family's dog, chew time, and carrying around my silent squeaker penguin. I enjoyed the dog park the one time we went, but unfortunately I haven't returned due to a dog respiratory illness going around our community. I don't enjoy bath time, the vet, or the car wash. I walk nicely on a leash. I am leash reactive when I see other dogs though, but play well with dogs when I am off leash. My foster family has been putting in leash work and is seeing improvements, updates to my profile will be made as this continues to improve. Everyone should know that I was a shelter staff favorite. I love my foster family, but I know they're trying to help as many dogs as they can so I hope to find my forever family so their home can open again. Keeping my paws crossed that the right people will find me.
