About Jasper

Jasper is a dog we are currently fostering for a rescue who is in need of his own home to thrive in! See below for more information. Jasper's ideal setup is to be an only dog in an adult-only home. Jasper is currently located in Missoula Montana but transport is possible if you are the right match. If we can adopt him out relatively close to Missoula he comes with access to training (he is currently in foster with a professional dog trainer). - What type of training does he have? Basic obedience (sit, down, stay) loose leash/heeling started fully crate trained house trained we've spent a lot of time working on neutrality in the crate with kids, other dogs, and people around - he is doing really well now shows good handler engagement - even around distractions (ask for videos) - Is he friendly with other dogs/cats/people? Jasper can exhibit crate aggression but when outside of a crate he is friendly, goofy, and outgoing no little kids - I'm happy to share more details in discussion with potential adopters. he can be dog aggressive - he made some progress with a female malinois (through a fence) with a prior adopter, and he has shown some progress (no hackles, barking) with two very calm/neutral dogs through a fence on our property as well (one was a 4 yr old female GSD, the other a 6 month old Boerboel puppy - both extremely neutral, chill dogs). Will likely not get along with a majority of dogs unless introduced slowly and properly by experienced handlers. Head's up: Can climb a 10' fence if it is not covered We have no knowledge of his behavior with cats or other small critters at this point. Jasper will do well with an experienced Malinois owner who is active and enjoys working/being with their dog. Jasper has a nice off switch for his breed and can just chill if he is with his people and gets proper exercise/mental stimulation. He also has the fluffiest, softest fur and the sweetest puppy eyes I've ever seen. Reach out - we are happy to do introductions/answer questions etc.
