About Malia

Adoption Fee: $325
Australian Shepherd mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Malia, lil Pixie! This pretty pixie is Malia. Malia is an approximately 9 month, full tail 40 poundish (not likely to get any bigger) Aussie/Husky mix (aka Australian Siberian). She's a lively pixette with the best of both breeds-playful, smart, loyal, curious and always ready to go! Malia is compact sprite size who loves, loves, LOVES being outside and spending time flitting in and out of the doggie pool and playing in water. Malia and her few weeks old littermates were found abandoned by the side of the road. Who does that? A very good Samaritan or two helped get them into a safe rescue. Now? Our Malia, is ready and raring to get to their Forever Home! She's been with an experienced Foster and dogs of all sizes and ages. Malia grunts and growlies as she tugs with her toys-bring on all the toys, stuffies, fun, and games! The pupper loves being in the spotlight and the attention of her Favorite Human. No doubt she'd make a fun run buddy or 'let's take on the trails' trekmate with her energy and exuberant nature. Belly rubs also make Malia's day! Malgal's very responsive, comes when she's called and learns quickly.('Sit' on the first try for a tasty tidbit!) She has been out and abouts on the golf cart before and thought that was cool. The pixie has house manners and is use to a doggie door. Malia's Forever After? Huskies and Husky mixes, in general, are adventurous and small critter-gitters, so need Folks who are experienced, or always, always intentionally monitor their dog. Her Future Besties will help Malia learn when to stay and where to go. Like many Aussie/herding dogs, clever girl might enjoy interactive games. Her Forevers must be experienced with spirited dogs and believe an active life is a happy life. Have patience, confidence and of course, love for this breed mix. Malia's done fine with kiddos she's met-8 and up who respect dogs will be great. A dog bestie of similar temperament and energy level would also be perfect. Malia hasn't been around kitties. Her People will have no smalls-felines or hamsters to worry about or be very familiar with Husky tendencies around small critters and able to teach her appropriate boundaries. Whomever wants to add Malia to their home will have to be understand the breeds and their need for hands-on-training, things to do, and their social 'part of the family' nature. A fenced in yard is preferred, though this girlie shouldn't ever be left unmonitored in one. However, a fence may not be necessary for the very experienced home. If you aren't ready for a likes to go and do girl who loves attention like Malia-she isn't the one for you. Multiresidential buildings (such as apartments) are not a good fit for this pup. The best adopters give their new family member time to decompress and grow familiar with a new environment and routine. They see the importance of investing time to understand their dog and build a bond of trust and provide steady, reasonable guidance and training. An adopter commits to slow and monitored introductions with new people, especially children, other animals, and new places. If you have the time to give and are ready to experience all that comes with a puppy, the joys and the training, as well as the possible normal growing 'oopsies' like chewing, potty accidents, and puppy nips or nibbles, please apply with that in mind. Malia wants to know, 'Ready for our life together? Yes? Let's go-I'm the pixster for you!' Is Malia your lil Pixie?
