About Maui

Adoption Fee: $325
Australian Shepherd mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Maui, Sweet Florette! This is Maui. Maui is an approximately 9 month, compact 40 poundish (probably as big as she'll get) full tail Aussie/Husky mix. She's a sweet mixed breed bouquet of all the best -athletic, intelligent, inquisitive, loyal, and loving. Maui and her few weeks old littermates were found abandoned by the side of the road. (There are some really vile people out there.) A couple of loving Samaritans and ASA friends rescued them. The garland gal's eager for her very own Forever Home! Maui is a tad more shy than her sibs, but just as overflowing with pupsonality and energy! P-L-A-Y. The florette has loved tug-of-war style games and romping with other dogs in her experienced Foster home. Not surprisingly, she loves water, water games, and water play in the puppy pool. Maui may grr and bark playfully. Squeaky toys are an invitation for happy howls and antics. A ready to take home blossom-she's lively, loves attention and has a loving and responsive spirit. (Maui learned 'sit' in a minute). The gal pal a likely candidate for doggie sports, agility, or as a running and hiking companion. Maui traveled well in the past in her golf cart carrier. She does prefer to be an up front navigator though-by your side. She's a People pup given time to know you, and likes to be near. Pets and Tummy Rubs can elicit gremie growls of contentment. Maui has doggie door experience and good house manners. Maui's Forever After? Huskies and Husky mixes, in general, are adventurous and small critter-gitters, so need Folks who are experienced, or always, always intentionally monitor their dog. Her Future Besties will help Maui learn when to stay and where to go. Like many Aussie/herding dogs, clever girl might enjoy interactive games. Her Forevers must be experienced with spirited dogs and believe an active life is a happy life. Have patience, confidence and of course, love for this breed mix. Maui's done fine with kiddos she's met-8 and up who respect dogs will be great. A dog bestie of similar temperament and energy level would also be perfect. Maui hasn't been around kitties. Her People will have no smalls-felines or hamsters to worry about or be very familiar with Husky tendencies around small critters and able to teach her appropriate boundaries. Whomever wants to add Maui to their home will have to be understand the breeds and their need for hands-on-training, things to do, and their social 'part of the family' nature. A fenced in yard is preferred, though this gal shouldn't ever be left unmonitored in one. However, a fence may not be necessary for the very experienced home. If you aren't ready for a likes to go and do girl who loves attention like Maui-she isn't the one for you. Multiresidential buildings (such as apartments) are not a good fit for this pup. The best adopters give their new family member time to decompress and grow familiar with a new environment and routine. They see the importance of investing time to understand their dog and build a bond of trust and provide steady, reasonable guidance and training. An adopter commits to slow and monitored introductions with new people, especially children, other animals, and new places. If you have the time to give and are ready to experience all that comes with a puppy, the joys and the training, as well as the possible normal growing 'oopsies' like chewing, potty accidents, and puppy nips or nibbles, please apply with that in mind. Maui wonders, 'Are you ready for a bestie blend like me? I'm ready to be your number one girl!' Is Maui meant to be your flower girl ?
