LOCATION: Reed City, Michigan DOB: 10/04/2022 Vishka is a stunning young black Great Dane mix on a mission to please. Her endearing personality makes it impossible to resist her charms. She is a bundle of energy, and when the zoomies hit, you can't help but be swept away by her playful antics. She's a lover of toys, enjoying every squeak, bounce, or toss. In her world, her humans are a priority, wanting all attention for her own. She loves other dogs, but it is her goal to be with her person at all costs. Basking in all of the cuddles. Walks are a favorite pastime for Vishka, and her enthusiasm for running and exercising is high. She'd make an excellent hiking partner, keeping pace with any adventure-loving soul. She currently goes on runs with her humans. She runs up to 3 miles no problem. Despite her high energy, she has a soft side and enjoys being carried like a baby-a big spoiled baby! .While she's still learning the ropes of leash walking, Vishka excels at understanding commands like 'kennel,' 'sit,' 'here,' and 'lay.' Yes, she's treat-motivated, but her easily distracted nature adds a touch of playful spontaneity to training sessions.. She would not do well with cats. Her high prey drive suggests caution around farm animals, but she's the ideal companion for an active person who can provide her daily running fix. Cars make Vishka nervous, possibly due to a past incident, and she has a particular aversion to men and hats. It takes her a moment to trust, but once that bond is formed, her loyalty is evident. She does fine with men once over the initial hesitation so kindness and patience is key with her to help her to trust any men in her life.. In her downtime, Vishka enjoys her haven in the kennel, especially with her favorite toy - a deer antler that she guards with devotion. Since she won't share her favorites, she only gets them in the kennel. She prefers to eat and drink in her kennel which is her safe space. She's kennel trained and spends her nights comfortably nestled in her retreat. She likes to chew up dog beds so blankets are best to avoid a fluffy mess. She is on a regular potty routine-every 2 hours. She is making such great progress. She would be great with older, bigger kids who can appreciate her love for play and occasional jumps. As a work in progress, Vishka is on the journey of overcoming her food-related apprehensions, and with the right guidance, she'll continue to blossom into an even more remarkable companion.
