About Hemi

American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Hemi was found lying down exhausted by the side of the road in January 2021. He had a string cinched around his neck so tight that he could hardly breathe. His front right leg had also healed crooked from at least 2 breaks. After all that, he is still trusting and longing for love. He is good with people and settles down well once he is out of his run and with someone. He is easy to handle, not sensitive to grooming, nail trims, etc. He is affectionate and comes when you call him. Just a great tough little dog.%A0Hemi is on a joint supplement for the leg that was fractured. His gait is a little awkward but he has not trouble walking. %A0He LOVES swimming, especially to retrieve toys or maneuver a herding ball. %A0Hemi enjoys walking with other dogs and is being introduced into play groups. %A0He has not been tested with cats. We try our best to give Hemi a good life but the rescue will never truly be home for him. We hope to see him transform into the dog he was always meant to be once he finally finds his family.
