This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. What we'd all feared has come true!! CAPITAN, A2033718, HAS BEEN RED-LISTED!!! We've all been speculating for months. Capitan's accidental bite would eventually land him on the red list. And now it has. Those of us who have spent time with Capitan figured he'd get a pass. We were naive, obviously, since the shelters rarely break their own rules--a bite is a bite, no matter what the circumstance. As in many cases, human error will likely be the cause of Capitan's death. He's a 4-strikes dog: 1) pittie (mix); 2) semi-senior; 3) bite on his record; 4) long tenure (since May 22). Of course, it's hard to reconcile all this with the smiling, ball-loving cuddlebug we all know. There's been chatter about rescues and fosters. Capitan needs both. No one's officially stepped up.
