My vaccinations are up to date. My worming is up to date. I have been microchipped Birdie is in need of emergency placement due to behavior concerns. Birdie was observed to hard bark, snarl, and on some occasions lunge in her crate when she sees or hears unfamiliar voices. On walks, she was reported to hard bark and lunge at dogs and some strangers. When she is around familiar staff, Birdie is social, allowing them to give her massages until she falls asleep and pet her throughout her body. Medically, Birdie has canine infectious respiratory disease complex. My medical notes are... Weight: 42 lbs Vet Consultation Vet Notes 9/26/2023 Your newly adopted pet has been diagnosed with CIRDC and the staff veterinarians are issuing a TEMPORARY waiver from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY. Follow up care at your regular veterinarian is recommended to ensure continued treatment through to the resolution of the issue. At the time of a full recovery you may choose to have your veterinarian perform the spay/neuter surgery, or make provisions to return the pet to ACC for sterilization. 9/18/2023 Details on my behavior are... Behavior Condition: 3. Yellow BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT: Upon intake: They had a tucked tail and tense body. They whale eyed staff but allowed all handling. They allowed staff to take pictures, and place inside of their cage in managers office. Date of Intake: 9/16/2023 Basic Information: They are a stray. no further information is known. Summary (3): 9/28 - When taken for a walk, Birdie is easily leashed and approaches multiple staff members with a loose and wiggly body. She passes an unfamiliar staff member, then stops to place her head on their lap, accepting petting before carrying on with her walk. She approached two other staff members that she is usually reactive to with a loose wiggly body. She pulls lightly on the leash while walking. 9/27 - Birdie is easily leashed and taken for a walk. She pulls moderately on the leash until she finds a spot to use the bathroom, then pulls back toward the shelter. She passes by multiple people in and put of the shelter with no issue. The handler sits in the room with Birdie for 10-15 minutes. Birdie will paw for petting, roll over, and leans in. She allows multiple massages, the handler to fix her kennel, and petting while remaining soft. She eventually falls asleep on their hand and snores. 9/24: Birdie was noted to hard bark and snarl at select people and dogs while on walks. When she is in the room, she hard barks and growls at noises. She softens up when someone familiar walks into the room. Birdie allows massages, occasionally lip licking. 9/21/23: Birdie is easily leashed for a walk, during her walk the handler noticed that when Birdie sees another dog her body stiffens and growls but the handler is able to refocus Birdie with a
