About Merle

Merle is a 2.5 year old Aussie, up to date on vaccines and neutered. He is very friendly with people but can be picky about other dogs. Merle is a hero -- he saved a child in his family from a hog! In the dog on hog fight, he was injured, and his left front leg could not be saved and was amputated. His family surrendered him to the vet because they could not afford the leg amputation surgery. Although he is now a tripod, he doesn't let that slow him down. He is heartworm positive and has been on doxy and monthly prevention since July. He prefers to be with female dogs, can be dominant with male dogs, and would really prefer to be the only dog!! He is very very sweet with people!! He loves cats. He is house trained and kennel trained. The kids in the house was 5 or 6. Takes more time to warm up to men, does better with women. So there u have it. A hero Aussie, who is not perfect but certainly deserves a home!!!!! He is currently at the vets in their kennels in Alabama and this boy deserves a real home! Fenced yard please, Aussie experience. We would like to get him a place in Florida, foster or foster to adopt!! Sounds like a great dog for a quiet older couple, who has cats and the grandkids around!!
