As hard as it is to believe, Hamilton was found tied to a fence and brought into the shelter. Excited and grateful to be saved, he greeted everyone at the shelter enthusiastically. He presents with a super soft body, huge smile and big, round, honest eyes. His video is completely adorable and showcases his incredible disposition. Hamilton obeys all shelter demands, and is an excited doggie. He is still young, and very playful. As usual the shelter finds fault with nearly every pet brought in, and so pouncing on Hamilton's excitement and zest. Staff describes him as friendly, soft bodied and cooperative. He seeks attention and sits down for petting. He even behaved awesomely during his medical exam. No resource guarding or aggression demonstrated. Appallingly the shelter placed him on the kill list instead of ensuring he finds a loving home. They see nothing wrong with destroying a sweet, healthy, young companion pet. If you are interested in saving this super cool and handsome boy, please message us now before it is too late for Hamilton. HAMILTON 182117 BROOKLYN ACC Estimated to be 5 years 1 week old, 57 Lbs UNALTERED MALE, MEDIUM MIXED BREED STRAY FROM NY MEDICAL BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: BEHAVIOR RATING: LEVEL 3 INTAKE DATE 09/11/2023 PET PROFILE Stray, no known history. Hamilton is white and tan male dog that was found tied up outside and was brought to ACC as a stray. During intake: he was friendly and outgoing. Due to his excitement I was not able to collar him but he did allow the staff to take his picture. Hamilton is in need of emergency placement due to behavioral concerns. While Hamilton has displayed some social behaviors, he has not acclimated well to the shelter environment. He has a high level of anxiety and a low threshold for arousal. Hamilton screeches in his kennel when he sees handlers and will leash bite when being removed from his kennel for walks. Once out of his kennel, Hamilton is unable to relax and remains in a heightened state of arousal and anxiety. Medically, Hamilton has been diagnosed with dental disease, has a small mass on the shoulder, and has hematuria. What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I am playful and cute! I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. I am looking for a home with a patient person.
