About Willow

Meet wonderful Willow! This sweet gal has been in our care before and was formerly known as Dixie Rose. She was adopted by a young person who gave Willow the best he could but was no longer able to take care of lovely Willow. During this past year Willow grew and experienced an amazing life outside of the shelter. She had continued dog training from Hillary Hayward, a certified dog trainer from Idaho Humane Society, who works closely with us at MCPAWS. From Willow's previous owner: 'Willow is an amazing, smart, and loving dog. She is always ready to play and loves tug of war. She can be coaxed into playing fetch if you tease her with the ball, but she'll eventually lose interest. When she is feeling extra playful, Willow will bring her toy to you. She loves her red kong peanut butter toy, and can recognize the words 'peanut butter'. Willow occasionally brings you her kong toy when she wants peanut butter. She loves plush toys, squeaker toys, and rope toys. Other than her peanut butter toy, She goes through toys very fast and will have any squeaker out of the toy within 5 minutes. She's very smart, she can tell the difference between her 'ball' and her 'toy'. If you keep asking her to bring you her ball, she'll eventually bring it to you. Same goes with the toy, I always wondered if she'd be able to learn and remember different toys with different names. Once Willow knows you as her person, she'll trust you completely. Once inside her circle, she will let you pick her up, handle her paws or mouth, and let you blow raspberries on her belly. Willow does very well in her kennel, she never fights to go in and is very good about not going to the bathroom in there. She is very food motivated, and will always beg if you let her. She's an amazing and beautiful dog, and I hope she can find the right home.' Willow is doing well in our care and can be handled by volunteers!
