Ozzy is a young 2-year-old Samoyed, born in Europe. At two months of age he suffered a disease in his left optic nerve called glaucoma, this was progressive and his eye became worse and worse. Because of this illness, Ozzy could not continue his life as a Samoyed with a pedigree record. The initial decision was to euthanize him, due to the difficulty of finding an adopter in Europe, the high cost of the surgery and the reputation of the kennel where he is originally from. Ozzy was transferred to Colombia to begin treatment and perform the surgical procedure on his eye. After his successful recovery, we brought him to Boston where he currently lives with our family. Our plans as a family have changed significantly, so we can't offer him more quality time like before. (Understanding that this breed requires a high demand for 'time/dedication' in physical activity, grooming and emotional connection). So we have made the decision to give Ozzy a new, much better opportunity so that he can be a happy and stable dog. (The cost of the adoption will be used to finish paying the price of his surgery and treatment).
