About Ducky

'Take me for a car ride!' is Ducky's constant refrain. Who is Ducky? Only the sweetest 2 year old black and white bulldog/pittie mix in foster care! Ducky is 65 pounds of gentle, sweet, loving goof. Good with other dogs? Check! Ducky is completely non-reactive to dogs. When he's out in the yard with the resident golden retriever, they sniff each other, and then they stand next to each other and enjoy the fresh air. When a pittie friend of the family comes for a playdate, he humps Ducky, obsessively, and Ducky just stands there. When the resident puppy was running around, trying to get Ducky to play with her, play bowing from different angles, Ducky just stood there unsure of what the next step was. In short Ducky is very chill. His foster parents report he doesn't really understand how to play with toys, yet but is trying. No toys doesn't stop Ducky from loving bathtime. Other things Ducky loves? People!! Every new person is his best friend. Car rides! Ducky is an outstanding roadtrip companion. He sits quietly in the backseat and looks out the window. You!!! :D Ducky is house trained, crate trained (especially for a cookie!), and working on learning leash manners. He is very strong, and doesn't know his own strength. His adopter will need to work with a trainer to help him learn to walk easily on a leash. Due to Ducky's size and strength his foster mom recommends kids older than 10 who won't be as easily knocked over by the 65 pounds of love. He can be cat tested upon request. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
