About Saint

Saint is 4 years old & 35LBS. He is a kelpie mix and is a high energy and lovable goof ball. His favorite thing in the world, more than treats or toys, is to have a person to give his love to. He came to the shelter in Nov 2022, so he has been so patient waiting for a home. Saint is an energetic guy who is super smart. Being cooped up in a kennel most hours of the day has him a little stressed, but the longer he is out of his kennel, the more relaxed he becomes and you get to see the real Saint. He has visited a volunteer's home a couple of times and he does really good. No accidents and likes to follow you around and snuggle. He really enjoys looking out the windows to see what is going on. He has met a few kids, but due to bouncy and excited nature I would say kids 10+ would be best. He doesn't have any experience that we know of with cats but would say no to living with a cat. This smart boy has learned come, sit, lay down, and leave it. He really likes soft chewy jerky treats. He hasn't really shown any interest in toys, he just really enjoys the company of a person. He loves getting scratches and will roll onto his back so you can get his belly. Saint is excited at the start of a walk and will jump and pull, but after about 5 min he walks really well on leash and is a great running buddy. He once ran 6 miles with another volunteer! So if you are looking for that perfect balance of a dog who will be active with you but will also snuggle with you, Saint is your guy.
