About Marley

Adoption Fee: $100
Mastiff
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

I adopted this amazing girl from the KCPP Rehome program last November, and within days knew I was in over my head. A friend of mine fell in love with her (and she him) and decided he wanted keep her once he found a place. It's now 9+ months later, and I am about to lose my own home due to a sudden reduction in income. I cannot keep her and he doesn't have anywhere to take her. The reason she was rehomed initially was because she and the established dog in that household began fighting for dominance when Marley (this dog) was about a year old. They had to be kept separated at all times, mostly in their respective crates, go outside and eat at different times, etc., which was no way for either to live. Since I've had her she has not had other animals in the home, but she does great on walks when other dogs are present. She shows interest, definitely, but doesn't lunge at them or try to break free. She is a super loving girl, gives the best kisses and tries very hard to be a lap dog, even though she's bigger than most people's laps. She listens (reluctantly), though is typically stubborn sometimes. She loves to play fetch and tug of war, she runs and hides when she hears the water hose turn on, but lets people bathe her just fine. She has responded well to training, and will do great with an experienced owner. As I'm sure you know, the shelters are all over capacity and aren't taking any large dogs right now. I'm heartbroken over this whole thing, and I desperately hope to find her a permanent loving home.
