About LUCY LU

Lucy Lu came to us from Nogales after living a pretty tough life. We were told her owner was homeless for a time and would tie to the dogs to a post or tree and recently landed in jail which is how the dogs ended up in the shelter. Lucy does well with other dogs and is very sweet with people of all ages. Unfortunately she tested positive for heartworm so has begun treatment. We would consider a foster to adopt in Tucson or Phoenix for someone willing to see her through the 4-6 months of treatment (we are happy to share more!). Rescue will pay for the medical if you provide the loving home! She is currently on oral meds and will get her 1st injection in about a month. She was recently spayed and is recovering well and is current on all vaccines. She is estimated about 3 years old and is 18 lbs. Lucy could do well in lots of different kinds of family situations.
