Courtesy Posting: BEAUTIFUL 1 yr CHOW X GIRL 'GINGER' IN NEED OF A LOVING AND CHOW SAVVY, FOREVER HOME. WHO CAN HELP? GINGER Goodyear (Phoenix Area), AZ Please help us find a loving, forever home for this petite chow mix young lady fondly named Ginger with her beautiful red coat. Ginger is believed to be only 1 year old, and was found as a stray and underweight and brough to a local shelter. She's currently 32 lbs, but could gain a few more lbs. A Good Samaritan familiar with chows took her home from the shelter to socialize her more, and is now looking for the wonderful home she so deserves. At the shelter, Ginger, formerly known as Candy, was shy initially as many chows are, but did warm up once she felt safe and was friendly, but cautious. Out of the shelter, Ginger seems to learn quickly, and follows the other dogs in the foster home which she does well with, and even does well with dogs she has met on walks. She is currently living with a male chow and smaller male. Ginger also has been non reactive to cats in the foster home. Her foster owner says has been potty trained from day one and has a gentle mouth and will take treats gently. Ginger also walks well on a leash, has learned to navigate stairs from a third story, and also going to the vet and in a car. She has already been placed on antibiotics after picking up kennel cough at the shelter. Her foster mom says Ginger, 'gets along with everyone well and is okay with men and women. She wags her tail when she sees the cats and tries to initiate play but the cats do not allow her to get close. She does chase rabbits and I am not sure if she would harm them'. We would love for Ginger to now find a forever home where she can live indoors and be loved and have a yard and stable home she so deserves. We have many additional pictures and videos which will be posted on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/783968124/posts/10165035148573125/?mibextid=alSgMb We are looking for serious adopters only, preferably who have prior chow or similar breed experience. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual) and must provide a vet reference. We do not normally do transport to homes without a rescue group already being involved, so all adoptions must be in person at this time. If you are interested in applying for Ginger, or need more information, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is assisting with her placement.
