About Sarge

Sarge is an extremely well mannered lab/pitbull type dog that came in as an owner surrender with his entire back half missing hair from fleas and allergies. We have kept him long enough to get his hair mostly back, worked with him on training (he did LOVE to excessively bark when he first came in-that is what the beeping/vibrating collar on his neck in the photo is for) but he is such a fast learner it did not take him very long to be perfect. He is now crate trained, does not mind his nails being trimmed, walks well on a leash (after the first initial excitement of being hooked up), and actually seems to even have some service dog potential as he hardly reacts to anything/anyone other than me when we're out on walks or in dog friendly stores. We actually almost had an adopter that was a veteran that I really thought they would have been perfect together but the person was not as interested as he acted like apparently. So many people have let this sweet boy down, he was found as a stray already microchipped and fixed but his owner never came and got him, then his adopter neglected him. He deserves to finally find a permanent home.
