I was picked up as a stray, but me and my foster family just can't comprehend why anyone would ever leave such a well-behaved, smart, and loving good boy like me all by myself. With my fancy distinguished looks, my foster mom named me Abraham Lincoln, but we all just call me Ham for short. I'm super smart and well behaved, and I listen real good when you tell me stuff like sit, lay down, no, shake, off, outside, bed, wait, and more. I bet I could learn even more tricks too! In fact, just the other day I learned how to open the kitchen drawer to the trash can all by myself! I even figured out the doggy door and going potty outside all by myself on my first day in my foster home. I do my best to live up to my nickname, lounging around the house belly-up, popping in for sloppy slobbery kisses when my foster mom is on work calls and has to look professional on camera, snoring at her feet while she works the rest of the time, playing with toys and blankets, chasing squirrels in the back yard, and generally being a goofball whenever I get the chance. My favorite is when I see my foster mom and one of the tiny humans snuggling on the couch together, because that's the perfect chance to squeeze up between them for an extra-snuggly Ham sandwich! I am a snuggle monster - big humans, tiny humans, other dogs'|I will snuggle all of them. In fact, as soon as my foster mom sits down on the couch I DEMAND snuggles and she has a pretty hard time refusing my affection. I love tiny humans and shower them with sloppy kisses and love too. Sometimes I do get really excited and I forget how big I am, though. I love going on walks and I'm really good on a leash. Even without a leash, I still just like to follow my foster mom around the house like her shadow. I never know what she's up to, but there's always a chance food is involved and that I might get some of it if I look really cute. Snacks are the best. The shelter that took me in said I'm about 6 years old, but I'm young at heart with lots of energy and I love to scamper around the back yard when I get the zoomies, so a big fenced area would be perfect for me to explore. I'm pretty cool with other dogs and I love to play, but my foster family dogs are old farts that just like to sleep all day. They can't run fast like me, but sometimes they try. So I snuggle with them all day instead, and we get along great. If you're looking for the most handsome, silly, sweet, smart, friendly, curious dog that will stick to you like velcro, look no further because here I HAM! AbraHAM is neutered and UTD on vet care, vaccines and preventatives. He is currently in a foster home in the Atlanta GA area. We adopt NATIONWIDE but require adopters to travel to the foster home with their current dog/dogs (to ensure they will be friends) to pick up. Out of respect for our foster family's time and privacy, we do NOT arrange meet and greets without an approved application on file.
