This pretty blue guy is Jiji. He is a 4 years old Australian Cattledog. He isn't loving the busy city lifestyle and is hoping for a home in a quiet suburb or other quieter place. Jiji knows his basics: Sit, Down, Stay, 'Up up' to get in truck or on couch, 'Off' to get off bed couch or counter, 'Drop' to drop ball. Also understands and responds to 'No'. He is house trained, also. As with most Cattledogs, Jiji is good with most people after a polite introduction. He appreciates people who give him space and then engage in a game of tug, or hand him treats. In the few times someone has been rude and didn't give him space at meeting, he gives a warning nip to ask for space. He has never drawn blood. He did live with a kid for a while, but his nippiness has us saying his new home should have teens or older. Jiji is good with some dogs, and with those dogs he is a great playmate. His dog greetings are slow, but once he is a friend he remembers that dog each time he sees them again. Jiji also lived with a cat, so should be fine with dog savvy cats. He would especially like a cat who likes to play. Jiji loves to fetch. He is also a good adventure partner who is nice on leash and good in the car. He isn't a dog park or brew pub kind of guy; however, he is an amazing hiking partner who loves to hit the trail. He loves to swim and hike and romp around. He is very curious and energetic. He picks up sticks and gallops around proudly and gets even more excited when I call him Stick Man! Jiji is a very jolly, loving, playful guy who seems to have a sense of humor. He loves to cuddle and kiss and play and be silly. He has a kooky smile, like one of the hyenas from Lion King. He loves catching tossed little bites of carrots (or even hot Cheetoos). He tries to talk when he's excited about eating or going to play. Jiji needs a hike outside of a busy neighbor. He is an outdoors guy who doesn't appreciate all of the action and business of city life. Jiji is a true gem and would be a real source of joy to anyone who could provide him with the stimulation and environment he needs. Jiji is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Los Angeles. He is ready to meet adopters who can meet and adopt here. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
