Available NY,NJ,CT,PA,DC,MD,DE,NH,RI,LI,MA,VT,ME With his forever puppy face, it's hard to believe that Connor is 7 years old! He is absolutely stunning! He easily bonds with people, demonstrating his heart and loyalty effortlessly. He is both leashed and returned to kennel easily. Takes treats gently. When introduced to the helper dog, he turned away. When approached in kennel he is either found laying down, or ready to engage with a neutral, friendly posture. All amazing qualities! Any doggie who plants himself in between the legs of people newly acquainted, wins the trophy in our book! The shelter of course nitpicks any behavior they can use as reason to kill list and move onto the next victim. Connor is being pounced on for being protective. All his excellence matters nothing. They gave him only a little over a week before deciding to destroy him. We are heartsick! More importantly we are asking for a foster or adopter to intervene. Connor is truly beautiful and deserving. He is also very smart, astute and athletic; still in his prime, He is wanting nothing more than a home of his own to love and serve.. If you would like to save this striking boy either by fostering or adopting, please message our page now! He will not receive a second chance at the shelter. CONNOR@MANHATTAN ACC Connor ID#182101, 7 years old, 61 lbs Large Mixed Breed, WHITE/TAN Unaltered Male Came into shelter as a STRAY Medical Behavior Evaluation: 3. Yellow Behavior Evaluation Rating: NHO INTAKE DATE: 9/11/2023 PET PROFILE: My health has been checked. My vaccinations are up to date. My worming is up to date. I have been microchipped Connor is on emergency placement for behavioral reasons. He has displayed high reactivity toward select strangers and passing stimuli. He has been allowing handling and shown some social interest in staff. Medically, he has CIRDC and dermatitis. Connor arrived to MACC as stray. Previous finders did note that Connor would growl or rush forward if his food or other items/possessions were approached or handled. In the care center he often appears fearful; he is otherwise handled easily by staff. At times he has displayed social, attention seeking behaviors. Outside on street walks he has displayed high levels of reactivity, pulling, vocalizing, or growling toward select strangers or novelty. Connor would best succeed outside of the city and should be placed into an experienced, adult only home. Connor should be placed with an ACC rescue partner who can work with his future caretakers on how to manage potential concerns. My medical notes are...
