About Freya

Siberian Husky
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Freya!! She is beyond adorable but be prepared bc she has a 100% husky personality! She's wide open, hyper, active, stubborn, super sweet, goofy, endless energy, and lots of hair! Please carefully READ ALL OF HER POST as she is not the right dog for most people. Freya is a 15 week old female Husky. She weighs 16 pounds. She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines as part of her adoption. Freya has been good with other dogs so far. She has not yet been around cats. If you have cats you will have to put in a ton of training work with her to have a peaceful household. Husky's can have prey drive and love to chase things. Generally they are better in homes without cats. She loves everyone including kids. HOWEVER all kids in the home will be jumped on, knocked over and tiny hands will be play nibbled. Shes a wild and hyper puppy that will turn into a high energy adult dog! Huskys also LOVE to ESCAPE. If your household is full of children (or adults) that cannot properly maintain her in the house due to opening doors, not closing gates etc then do not adopt her. You need to be responsible and bring the right dog into your home that your family can properly manage. She is still a baby and not completely trained but she's doing really well so far. She's doing really well with potty training. She goes to the door to let you know she needs to go out. If you miss her cue she will have accidents. She is doing well with crating but can be vocal when first put in. She settles down after a bit and sleeps in there overnight currently. Freya rides great in the car. She is still working on her leash training. It appears she was fed people food prior to coming to us. She's still learning to not try to take your food, counter surf etc when people food is involved. She has not shown any issues with sharing food, treats or toys with humans or other dogs. She loves toys and bones. She's not a cuddly lap dog but likes to lay at your feet when she's tired. z%8Fz%8FHeres the scoop on why she's not the right dog for everyone:%8F%8F Basically, she's a husky. Its like a newborn baby with the attitude of a teenager and the energy of an athlete. ENDLESS ENERGY! She will go all day long playing with people and other dogs and still be ready for more. She is all the chaos and then a short nap and shes ready to go again. If you are not an extremely active person and you're not home often then she will be very unhappy. VOCAL! Huskys are loud. They bark, howl and 'talk' This is absolutely not an apartment or condo dog. HAIR EVERYWHERE!! She will shed enough weekly to make a fur coat out of. You will be one of those dog people that carries a lint roller everywhere to get the husky hair off of your clothes. Your vacuum may even quit and move to a house that has short haired dogs. ESCAPE ARTIST! The breed is notorious for going over and under fencing if they get bored. You must have a 6ft or higher fenced in yard and she can NOT be left outside alone. She will get bored and escape. If you cant stand outside with her when she plays or potties then this isn't the breed for you. Please do not get a husky and think you will be able to change her core genetic behaviors. She is going to be hyper, vocal and escape if not properly watched for life. These things rarely change for this breed despite age or training. (Proper obedience work and keeping up with her physical and mental exercise will help tone down these behaviors, but won't eliminate them.) Now, If you're still reading this you might be a husky person%9D%A4%8F'| The good stuff; Freya is all love. She is very smart and learns quickly when she has the proper energy outlet. You want a hiking buddy this is your girl, want a running partner, she's the one. She's extremely fun and will keep you laughing. Freya will keep both the humans and dogs in your home well exercised. She will keep you laughing with her crazy husky antics. She really is the cutest and sweetest little ball of fur. She just needs an owner that is ready, willing and committed to giving her what she needs to succeed. Shes a puppy. A crazy high energy puppy, and she will need your time toward continued training daily. She will need you to engage her in play and exercise multiple times every single day. If not she will get frustrated and bored and become a destructive and difficult to deal with dog. You MUST give a dog like this the energy outlet they need to be happy. Home and vet checks required. s%A0%8F6ft or higher fenced yard requireds%A0%8F s%A0%8FNo apartments or condos s%A0%8F z%8Fz%8F NO EXCEPTIONS ɕ%8Fɕ%8F Located in Hampton VA.
