Hi, my name is Pinta and I'm an Australian Cattle dog mix. I was rescued from a Shelter in SoCal a few months ago and I found a home with a family and another female dog. I'm good with kids, the little one here is 4years old and the shelter said, I was raised with kids. I'm a little overweight but now I'm on a special diet to get my weight down (50lbs) and I'm generally a little bigger and muscular than some purebred ACD. But I do love food and sometimes I'm stealing things from my family here. What should I say.. I'm a foodie. I'm a pretty low energy Cattle dog, I'm working currently on going for longer walks, hikes but I get pretty tired quickly. I just love to play with my herding ball in the backyard and I'm the happiest when I can stay with my favorite person. You could say I'm a Velcro dog, always on your side and the best thing is when you give me treats and when I can lick your face because I love you so much. Unfortunately I don't like my older sister here so much and I got in some scrabbles with her.I would to best as the only dog and I'm also better with male dogs. I was reactive when I came out of the shelter but I was trained and now I know I will get a treat when I sit down and look up to my handler. I don't have to react anymore to other dogs or people. But I'm not a big fan in the beginning of strangers - I need some time to get to know them but then I'm a real sweetheart. My person loves me very much and she always tells me, I'm the best and easiest dog she ever had. But the older dog here has some health issues and is nervous around me - so my person tries to find a new home for me. A backyard would be nice, where I can play with my ball and run around, a new person who loves me as much as the human right now and someone who wants to have a dog who gives you kisses all day, who's highly trainable (my person has sometimes the feeling that I understand here, even without words) and someone who's working from home or who's retired. I have no problems to be alone for a fee hours but I would do best with someone who sticks around trough the day and I can be on their side. Some more infos about Pinta: When you would like to have a ACD with an average energy level, who stays on your side indoor even when she could go outside and enjoy the backyard and nature - then Pinta is the right dog for you. She's my best friend, she makes me feel safe and she's highly trainable and walks perfectly on the leash. She's so fun, so good with my daughter but our older dog is stressed around her and I can't do this to her in her last earth years. I'm willing to travel anywhere (at my own cost) - in any state of the US with her to find her a new, loving home.
