About Gemma

Gemma was scheduled to be euthanized for space. I could not let her fall the cracks, so some wonderful people stepped in to save her life. She was surrendered to Sarasota Animal Services, because her owner went into a nursing home. She is 8 years young and weighs 74 lbs. She previously lived with other dogs including small and large. She is an easy walker and loves to bask in the sunlight. She is getting along marvelous with the other dogs in her foster home. She would do fine with respectful children. She would do best with eating out of stand up bowls and having a soft bed for her senior joints. She does not act like she is 11 years old though. She is quite active for her age. She will talk a lot to you and wants to be with someone. A retired couple who is home a lot would be ideal. Getting a bath is not Gemma's favorite past time! She does know some basic commands. She is heartworm negative and housebroken. She is in a foster home, but with an approved application a meet and greet can be arranged. Please keep that in mind when in inquiring.
