About Clyde

Clyde is a 2 year old, 12.4 pound miniature Dachshund LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard HIGHLIGHTS: Snuggly playful pup! Clyde came to us as an owner surrender. For his age, he is a pretty calm lapdog! If someone sits down for any amount of time he will climb into their lap and begin giving kisses, all the while wagging his tail! When other pups are near his foster mom he will slowly and gently make his way to the front of the line so he can be the closest. He enjoys being by her or on her when she's seated on the couch. Clyde just loves attention and affection. He makes soft grunting and groaning noises when he's happy or wants some loving. Clyde may growl at little if you startle him by picking him up when he doesn't expect it, and like many dachshunds he can be a bit territorial around strangers. For these reasons Clyde should not go to a home with kids. He has been around small and medium sized dogs and is good with all of them. He likes to do zoomies in the yard with his doggy friends! We have not tested him with cats. Clyde is working on his potty training and does have some accidents inside, but he will potty outside and does well when taken out often. He needs more practice walking on the leash and a fenced yard would be a good idea for him. Clyde is currently sleeping in a puppy pen in the living room with 2 other puppies but would probably love to sleep cuddling with his new family in the big bed. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, has been fecal tested, is heartworm negative and has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot. He is also microchipped with a lifetime registration maintained by the rescue. Clyde is a beautiful pup looking for just the right lap! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit. We are not always able to respond to every application.
