Courtesy Posting: BEAUTIFUL YOUNG CHOW GIRL 'COCO' IN NEED OF A LOVING AND CHOW SAVVY HOME. COCO West Hollywood/Los Angeles, So Cal Please help us find a loving, responsible home with prior chow experience for dear Coco, an adorable purebred looking chow girl who is 2.75 years old. Coco was adopted as a very young puppy to a home who now is traveling and not around often enough, but loves her dearly. Please no negative comments, at least they reached out to us for help to find a good home, and do not want to bring her to a shelter. Coco has been fully vaccinated, weighs 50 lbs, and is already spayed. She is a typical chow who is wary at first around people and will be protective and bark when people come inside her home. According to her owner, Coco does better with others outside her home or if introduced before, as is typical of the breed. She enjoys taking walks, and goes out several times a day to do her business. Coco also enjoys belly rubs from those she trusts and also riding in the car. Her owner says, 'She loves to be around people and doesn't like to stay alone. She doesn't typically bark a lot in the house, she's more of a chill quiet dog. We typically leave her in the crate when we want to leave the house and she barks for like a few seconds and then quiets down.' Coco has been crate trained since a puppy, but her owners are having to now leave her crated during much of the day up to 8 hours because they now work outside the home. She has some separation anxiety as a result of this. We would like to see a new home who can spend more time with her and will crate her during the day for extended periods, but is also aware of her needs. Coco does seem to be need some further socialization with other dogs. On walks, she will bark at other dogs, but seems to do better around smaller dogs that do not intimidate her. Anyone who has another pet would need to do a meet and greet to see if this could possibly work. It is noted she is not social with other dogs, but many chows are not. We have video of her with another dog and she is laying there a few feet away. We would love for Coco to find a forever home where she can live indoors and be loved and have a yard and more attention she so deserves. Additional pictures and videos will be posted on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/783968124/posts/pfbid0LNfhbSbQoedPozAadtbZim5ZrkqmCTSQ3hxSXnaohwpcGXc8BUhdm7hZE7U3fQH2l/?mibextid=cr9u03 We are looking for serious adopters only who have prior chow experience. She is not recommended for homes with younger children though. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual) and must provide a vet reference. We do not normally do transport to homes without a rescue group already being involved, so all adoptions must be in person at this time. If you are interested in applying for Coco, or need more information, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is assisting the owner with her placement.
