This shiny princess was brought into the shelter as a stray, though quite clear she is no stray. Milly has a beaming smile which lights up her entire face, her ears merrily even join in to complete the most compelling vision! She is entirely social, playful and joyful. Love and affection are effortless with this sweet girl. Understandably she finds the shelter scary and hopeless at times, and truly dreads being locked in a tiny kennel for endless hours there. In fact, the shelter used her occasional kennel defensive fear as cause to list her for death, while noting her consistent and endless loving nature in every other environment and scenario! An utterly unacceptable decision! They will leash this girl soon for her final walk and breath, knowing full well her fine qualities, her desire to give and receive affection and her forever uplifting vibes prove her worth; it all means nothing there. Therefore we beg, and plead, please help us find this excellent doggie a foster or adopter before it is too late. If you can help this angel out, please message us now. A volunteer writes: Milly Milly Vanilly came to us as a stray. She is oh so sweet outside, but has been struggling in a small kennel. Active dogs aren't made to live in a kennel! She is about 3 years old, and is high energy and bouncing off the walls. Milly would benefit from a adult only home with people who can respect her space when she asks. Milly whispers in our ears that she hopes a new home will have lots of toys for her. She likes to bounce and run around the yard, with a big smile plastered across her face. She can be a bit all over the place, trying to find the beset way to earn her treats and playtime. Milly would be great in a home ready to provide her lots of enrichment to use her smart brain, and get her energy out. Ask to meet her today! MILLY 174028 BROOKLYN ACC Estimated to be 3 years 3 mos old, 52 Lbs UNALTERED FEMALE, MEDIUM MIXED BREED STRAY FROM NY MEDICAL BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: BEHAVIOR RATING: LEVEL 3 INTAKE DATE: 06/10/2023 PET PROFILE Stray, no known history. Behavior Notes: Upon intake, they allowed staff to place a loop rope on them. They pulled the lead very hard. When in admissions office they were very hyper, and jumpy. They jumped very close to staff members face, and they strong armed them. They allowed staff to place them into their kennel. Other Notes:: While in her crate, Milly begins growling, baring her teeth, and snarling when she has treats, toys, or food. Milly is in need of emergency placement due to behavioral concerns. While social outside of her kennel, Milly has a poor kennel presence and guards her food, treats, and toys when placed in her kennel. This is stressful for her and other neighboring dogs due to her escalating to charging the kennel door, slamming on it, while snarling, and baring her teeth when her kennel is passed or approached. Milly displays these behaviors even when she does not have an item she considers high value in her kennel. Best efforts have been made to keep Milly comfortable but she continues to display these behaviors. Medically, Milly has an umbilical hernia. What my friends at ACC say about me: Please check here for updated adoption hours. My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I don't always like to share my food, toys or bedding with others. I am finding the shelter a bit overwhelming. Outside one-on-one I am a great big cuddle bug.
