This is Beans. Contrary to what he'd like you to believe, this dog is the biggest softie ever created. He's had a rough go of it, according to my sources he spent the first four years of his life living exclusively inside of a crate and being disciplined rather harshly by the man owning him. Oh, you know, the typical big scary pitbull story. But it took a mere twenty-four hours for this creature to be snuggling into bed with me. Despite his rough beginnings, he's incredibly loyal. He'd fight the devil for you... and then probably cry like a baby the whole way home. He's very trainable and has a better recall than my own dog, even has better leash manners. He's the only one of our dogs that I completely trust outside of the crate. Never chews, never whines; at night he finds a comfy spot at the end of the bed and sleeps like the dead. We live in a stereotypically small apartment for college kids, but Beans has never had an issue with the small yard and walks for exercise. He loves car rides, tug of war, and being literally inside of your skin at all times. Now for the bad... Beans does reflect his past in a few undesirable behaviors he's developed. He gets protective on the leash, and often greets new men and dogs with hackles raised. He's never lunged or bitten, and I've always been able to turn his attention quickly with his name or 'leave'. He doesn't like crowds--I mean, same--and in general, is fairly antisocial in public spaces. We have four 60+ lb dogs in our apartment, and he's never caused any issues. However, he does get a little aggressive for my liking at dog parks, so he generally wears a muzzle if I know there will be a lot of unfamiliar dogs off-leash. He also has to be muzzled at the groomer and vet, but is a complete angel when I bathe and doctor him at home. Beans would do great in any living situation, house or apartment. I think he'd be best as an only child, but he'd also be fine with larger, confident siblings. No cats. and definitely no intact males. He's up-to-date on all shots. This boy has come so far from the skinny, scared pitbull I picked up, and now he's ready to find his person! Please text/call me at (716)578-4852 or email me at [email protected] if you're interested
